Understanding the world we live in is important for students to ensure they are well informed members of society. In Science, at Koo Wee Rup Secondary College, students explore their scientific understanding of the world and develop scientific skills required to further investigate it.
We have a strong focus on practical work, ensuring students are exposed to various forms of experimentation allowing them to develop their own scientifically based approaches to design and data collection. Our hands on course provides variety for students to identify where their own interests may lie in the scientific world.
In each successive year of their core Science studies, students further develop their scientific inquiry skills and broaden their knowledge base by exploring various topics from each of the key science disciplines. This ensures students are ready to take on the demands of VCE Science studies at year 11 and 12.
To support of our core science studies at KWRSC we also offer a range of specialised pathways units including STEM electives in partnership with Casey Tech School including:
- Environmental Studies
- Marine Biology
- Forensic Science
- Psychology and Chemistry/Physics enhancement
