Performing Arts

THE MUSIC FESTIVAL

The MUSIC FESTIVAL is an annual tradition which began in 1967.  The Festival is a performing arts competition where the four Houses each produce singing, dance, instrumental and musical comedy items. Most of the House items are prepared by the students themselves with senior students teaching younger students how to sing, dance and perform on the stage.

THE MUSICAL

The MUSICAL is also an annual tradition.   Such shows provide a wonderful opportunity for staff, students, parents and members of the local community to work together, either onstage, backstage, in the orchestra or as part of the production team

Originally the Westernport Light Opera Company was based in the town and produced musicals for many years with the involvement of many members of the school community. In 1979 The Kooweerup High School Theatre Group was established and started a tradition of annual musical productions.
